Where Does It All Go?
Paper is sent to paper mills in Michigan where they recycle it into paperboard rolls and then ship it out to companies that make a variety recycled boxboard like cereal, crayon, and Fed-Ex boxes.
Mixed office paper goes to a leading global health and hygiene company where the it is made into a pulp at their facility. It is then made into commercial grade tissue and towels that go in washrooms such as Marriott and Hampton Inn, Wal-Mart restrooms, etc.
All of our cardboard and newspaper also goes to paper mills in Michigan that make recycled cereal and cardboard boxes.
Plastics are sold to Poly Processors where it is ground up and made into picnic tables, park benches, playground equipment, lawn edging, carpeting, t-shirts, and polyester filing that goes into jackets.
Tin and aluminum are sold to local scrap metal businesses where it is sent to steel mills to be made into parts to be used in auto parts, bikes, and desks.
Glass bottles and jars are sold to glass recyclers where they clean and grind it up to be sold to glass manufacturers to make new bottles and jars.
